A few years ago, my friend and I are talking about this topic. He’s been a friend of mine ever since I was a kid and we both saw each others transition from kids, to adolescent, to adult. His girlfriend is also a close and childhood friend.
He’s been crushing on her for years but was kinda shy to approach her before because we were so young back then and he was a few years older than us. So he waited YEARS, for her. Unfortunately, there’s been a problem in his family when his was hospitalized due to kidney failure. We didn’t see him for a VERY long time, so when he got back he really spent the day with all of us. One of the small talks was about girls and if he ever had other girlfriends when he was gone.
I was really in awe of this guy, someone who could patiently wait because he loves her. Not all guys are like that—scratch that, MOST guys are not like that. I had two ex-boyfriends who cheated on me because of my stand.
I’m blessed that somehow I found a little spark of hope because truthfully, guys these days are hard to trust. Even if he’s one of a few, I believe and pray that someday I will meet a certain person like that. :)
